Last November (2019) I attended the New Mexico National Guard’s Military Ball in Albuquerque. The honored guest speaker was U.S. Air Force General (Four Star) Joseph L. Lengyel, who is the National Guard Bureau Chief and a member of the Joint Chiefs.
Later in the evening my friend, Major General (Two Star) Kenneth Nava, introduced me to General Lengyel. We chatted for a while and I told General Lengyel I would send him one of my books.
The result is my Grandfather’s story has now reached a member of the Joint Chiefs!
I’ve received so many beautiful notes through the years, however his is one of the most thoughtful. I am pleased and honored beyond words.
